- Performs body repair and corrosion control, repaints and refinishes surfaces as required
- Repairs and/or replaces body parts, locks, glass, etc. and determines if additional repairs are required
- Services and/or repairs all assigned transit vehicles, automobiles, and miscellaneous light and heavy mechanical equipment
- Certified in both 608 and 609 A/C repairs
- Two (2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of automotive and transit equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Good knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and modifications of light and heavy gasoline, electric, and diesel powered automotive equipment, including transit vehicles
- Use all types of auto machinist equipment and tools effectively
- Vehicle service and repair experience
Responsibilities For Automotive Mechanic Level A Resume
- 2-4 ASE certifications required
- Work on electrical, mechanical, chassis and body parts of such equipment
- Overhauls engines and transmissions, rebuilds generators and batteries
- Repairs bodies and chassis, adjusts brakes, aligns wheels, installs glass, adds special equipment and performs other similar repairs
- Uses automobile mechanics' hand tools, cylinder and valve grinding machines, carpenter and body repairman tools, portable power tools, acetylene welding equipment, etc
- Inspects and diagnoses automotive, motorcycles, All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and light duty trucks and other equipment including alternative fuel powered vehicles to determine corrective action needed; troubleshoots and diagnoses computer control system components, using scanners and/or laptop computers
- Repairs or replaces engines, transmissions, brake , and air conditioning/climate control systems; repairs or replaces, electrical, electronic and computer controls and fuel systems
