- Review and approve LPA and/or consultant surveys, ROW Plans, and legal descriptions to ensure compliance with statutes, regulations, and guidelines
- Participate on the ROW Management Team, including attending and participating in staff meetings, working with other Management Team members to develop ROW Unit work plans, policies, and procedures
- Work with attorneys and ROW Unit staff to prepare exhibits and provide testimony for instances when acquisitions have been referred to the Attorney General's Office for condemnation
- Advises managers, engineers and surveyors on complex land survey and right-of-way plans problem by utilizing land survey principles and applying federal and state laws, regulations and board rules
- Complies, assesses and consolidates educational, equipment, computer software data and other technical resource needs critical to the operation of the land survey and ROW Plans program
- Reviews and determines the appropriate steps needed to obtain Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and state authorization of land acquisition for federal, state and local public agency projects by interpreting FHWA and CDOT polices and state statues
- Approximately 10% of time is spent in the field and 90% is spent in the office
- Travel required during work hours throughout the state
