- Responsible for Out of OR Airway Management Program at AVAHCS
- Participate, as an anesthesia subject matter expert, in various committees and workgroups as required by leadership
- Supervision, teaching and evaluation of performance of medical students and other personnel in anesthesia
- Provide anesthesia for general surgical cases, orthopedics, Urology, ENT, Neurosurgery, some pediatric, plastic and gynecological cases. No OB or open heart. Assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia
- Relief and prevention of pain during and following surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
- For qualified status: completion of a residency or fellowship in anesthesiology acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF
- Responsible for Coordinating and running the Daily Schedule in conjunction with the OR nursing leader and CRNA leader, including breaks, lunches and interviews
- Responsible for resolving day to day operational issues in conjunction with center leaders and Division leadership
- Represents the Ambsurg at building meetings and works closely with the building Administrative Manager and Site Medical Director
- Responsible for maintaining good customer relations with HFH surgeons, non HFH/private surgeons, and other departments in the building
- Involved in and responsible for the Departmental Continuous Quality Improvement Initiative (QA) at the site
- Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Monitors lab results, medication adherence and medication toxicities
- Represents the practice at LGH committees in such a manner that the burden of attending the meetings is reasonably distributed among all of the physicians in the group
- Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or Board eligible
